Mad Men meets Vampire Diaries. Kaya Satozuka prides herself on being an excellent secretary and a consummate professional, so she doesn’t even bat an eye when she’s reassigned to the office of her company’s difficult director, Kyohei Touma. He’s as prickly—and hot—as rumors paint him, but Kaya is unfazed…until she discovers that he’s a vampire!!

Kaya quickly accustoms herself to scheduling his “dinner dates” and working odd hours, but can she handle it when Kyohei’s smoldering gaze starts turning her way?!

I’m not exactly sure where I first found out about this series (it might have been on my recommended list on Goodreads) but nonetheless I’m glad I decided to check it out! As the synopsis says, it is a sort of Mad Men meets Vampire Diaries world in that there is an office setting and vampires (oh my!).

The series starts off with a bang and gives you lot’s of plot set ups that continue to come up later on and does a really good job of setting up the main characters. As you read through each volume you can really see how the characters grow through a TON of development (especially in the fifth and sixth volumes). The third and fourth volumes aren’t extremely interesting, but they’re good enough to give you some substance for the story. I guess you could say they focus more on the logistics of the series rather than the romance itself which kind of goes in endless circles during those two volumes.

It seems there are more volumes coming out and I can’t wait to see what will happen next! I would recommend this series for a somewhat older teen audience, but it’s perfect if you’ve already tried out some anime previously and want to read something a little darker in terms of plot and romance! Also it’s perfect if you love vampires (and brooding gentlemen).
