Ashlyn: A lonely society princess living in New York City.Daddy hired you to be my bodyguard.Colin: Childhood enemy, now her protector.Daddy thought I’d be safe. He thought I’d never fall in love. He thought he could keep me forever.Charles: obsessed with keeping her safe, keeping her his, he hires the one person he knows she could never fall in love with: Colin.Daddy was wrong.I absolutely adored this book! I fell in love with Jennifer Laurens’ writing way back in my freshman year of high school when I read her other novel Falling For Romeo. The way she writes is so upfront and clear and I just love that it feels so real. She does not beat around the bush with her characters and makes them feel like living and breathing people, something that is not an easy task to accomplish.

I absolutely loved this book! This is my second Jennifer Laurens novel to date and she does not disappoint! Her writing style is so upfront and cuts to the chase that is so refreshing in YA novels these days. She doesn’t shimmy around with tons of details, and just sticks to the plot. Jennifer Laurens creates this world where you feel so deeply for the characters that your heart jumps every time something good or bad happens to them, which I just love!

I loved how swoon worthy Colin was too! I wish he was my body guard! Although, hopefully not as protective as he is of Ashlyn. Ashlyn’s father and mother were also pains in my behind and I hated them from the start as well. Every time her mother came into the scene I wanted to gag! Ashlyn herself is so innocent though that you just can’t help but love her.

The end definitely left me wanting more from the novel, or maybe even a perspective from Colin’s side but on the other hand I like that we were left to make our own decisions about certain things. Overall, a really great read and perfect for spring! Not a huge fan of that cover though…
